Vintage Leaves

I haven’t used the vintage leaves set for ages even though it’s really beautiful, so when this week’s challenges made me think of leaves it was these stamps I turned to. They look lovely in all sorts of colours, I hope you’ll agree.

This is my card Slide1

and it was inspired by Michelle Last’s card in the GDP challenge  #GDP100

in that it has an all over pattern, with a large sentiment and some decorative ‘filling’

and by the colours on the colours and sketches challenge #CAS236

You can find the other GDP entries here and the CAS ones here

If you’ve observed how much I love the Eastern Beauty stamp set you won’t be surprised that I’ve used it on this design !

If you would like to try this card you can come to one of my classes and/or get the supplies which are listed below from my online shop

Wedding card

Hi, I missed posting in time for the deadlines for last week’s challenges but thought you might like to see the card anyway.  It was inspired by

And this is what I came up with 15Aug2017

The little hearts and the background embossing are done with some retired (but still loved!) products.  It was a good excuse to use them again, you can of course substitute any other hearts….and the lovely sweet and sassy framelits would work well, but I don’t have them…..yet.  I think the petal burst embossing folder would be a good choice for the background and would work well with the sponging. The rose red heart was cut using the mini treat bag die and then embossed.

This little piggy

Well I think I deserved a bit of light relief today.

I’ve been tidying and cataloguing all my craft supplies….it’s taken me ages but I’m virtually there and that’s a really good feeling.  So I had a bit of fun creating the card for this week’s challenges.  I hope you like it, I was especially pleased with the background – looks like the piggy has been having a good splash!  I used the swirly bird stamp set for the splodges – yet another use for this set!

The #GDP098 challenge was a sketch

(other entries here)

and the CAS #234 challenge was these 3 colours

(Other entries here)

So my card to satisfy both these is this, using the wonderful This Little Piggy set

I must confess I’m not all that fond of blushing bride as a colour but it works really well for the pig, so perhaps I’ll have to re-consider.

As always you can obtain all the supplies from my online shop

Eastern Palace continued

What fun I’m having with this set!

This week I’m entering the #GDP097 colour challenge

I came up with a card to fit with both challenges

I hope you like it.

Hogs and kisses

The new this little piggy set is such fun with loads of potential, which I’m looking to explore lots more …especially as my daughter loves pigs !

So for this weeks challenge I thought the hogs and kisses image would work well

the challenge was CAS #231

and you can see other entries here.  I hope you like my interpretation.

One thing to mention is that normally when I use the softly falling embossing folder I love the variation in the density of the dots, but for the little strips of card I wanted them to be dotty all over – so I just put them sideways into the embossing folder – yet another way of using it!

If you’d like to have a go at this card, the supplies you need (listed below) are available through my online shop

Eastern Beauty

Well the Eastern Beauty stamp set and matching thinlits are just so beautiful that there’s too much  to choose from for a normal class!!  Instead, purchase either the stamps, dies or bundle (see pictures below) by contacting me and for just an additional £10 you will receive a goody bag and the chance to play with them for a whole day.  I will be on hand with ideas and inspiration.

Here’s just one of the many, many cards you can make with this bundle

Tranquil tulips

I’m loving this new hostess set so thought I’d use it for the challenges this week.  It seems ages since I did a challenge, how did that happen???

Anyway, here goes

For the global design project #GDP094 there’s a sketch

(You can view the other entries here) and this is my interpretation

This was inspired by some of the colours on CAS challenge #230 (other entries here)

which I also used for this card

The sketch was from the previous week but I missed the deadline…..

Retiring Products

This is a time of year with mixed emotions – excitement at the up-coming new catalogue and sadness at the imminent loss of the retiring products.  Two I am really sad to be losing are the decorative label and petite petal punches so I thought I’d use them for this week’s challenges.  Both are sketches this week

CAS colurs and sketches challenge #218 is

And here are my entries using some retiring colours and some that are continuing

The other entries are here

The Global Design Project GDP#082 was similar

I used the same supplies again and came up with these

Other entries are here .

I hope you like my interpretations. I particularly like the combination of mint macaron (retiring) with sweet sugarplum – even better in reality than in the photos.  The backgrounds were made by inking up the retiring lovely lace embossing folder before putting it through the big shot, one using the ‘front’ and one the ‘back’, I’m always torn between which I prefer!

If you’d like to get your hands on some of these products – especially the ones that are about to retire – you can do so through my online shop above or by clicking below .

Special Reason

This week many of my fellow Stampin’ Up! demos are in Amsterdam for our convention known as On Stage. I was unable to go this time 😦 so Amy Gould and I organised our own Off Stage event for the Diamond Stamping team. We had a lovely time and made some really pretty cards and boxes.

One of the stamp sets we used was Special Reason so I thought I’d use it for this week’s challenges.

The Global design project #GDP081 is

For the free choice of colour I used pear pizazz and this was the result

The other entries can be seen here.

The Colour and Sketches challenge #217 used different colours

and here is my version
